At Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences, transformative, integrative and active learning is key. Fieldwork education is essential in the O.T.D. curriculum, allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills in various occupational therapy settings. These immersive experiences span traditional, non-traditional and emerging practice areas, fostering professional development and innovative practice.

Level I and Level II fieldwork rotations provide students with experience in evaluation, intervention and outcomes in occupational therapy. The expectations and objectives progress to ensure entry-level competence by the end of Level II and align with DMU O.T.D. student learning outcomes. Students complete five Level I and two Level II rotations.
