The Office of Student Affairs works proactively to help our students shape their experiences outside the classroom while navigating their academic responsibilities. We challenge, support and educate students through social, professional and personal development from orientation through Commencement.
Student Affairs advises student clubs, special interest groups, and our three student government associations with faculty and staff involvement to ensure all students are getting the most from their experiences here in Des Moines, out on rotations, or attending classes through our online programs. Whether it is overseeing new student orientations, DMU’s spring Commencement ceremony, providing leadership development through the Innovative Leadership Series, coordinating student health insurance, promoting and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct, overseeing campus-wide programming and community outreach through service, or providing support and guidance to the Student Life Council, we are here to serve all DMU students.
