Our digital platforms serve as entry points for a variety of audiences interested in learning more about Des Moines University. The DMU website is one of the strongest and most effective forms of communication to share a wide range of content, information and resources.

dmu.edu is the university’s external-facing site and Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and maintaining its presence. Pulse is the university’s intranet site and is managed by the ITS department.

If you have questions, comments or needs related to DMU’s public web pages, contact the marketing and communications office.

The external site creates a welcoming user experience and cohesive brand image through the digital space. The marketing team makes thoughtful use of design elements — including logos, colors, fonts, HTML structure and accessibility — to amplify the DMU brand. DMU strives to create digital platforms that are accessible to all and follow best practices for web accessibility and optimization.

The web team has content strategy, design, page architecture and site analytics expertise. The marketing and communications team works to:

  • Ensure that all web pages representing DMU present a consistent, professional image of DMU and are accessible to those with disabilities, accurate and easy to find and navigate.
  • Provide consistent standards and content management of all DMU web pages, including regular audits of broken links and images, content accuracy and functionality. The team systematically reviews pages. If you notice an error, please contact the marketing team so that corrections and improvements can be made.
  • Review Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site and to use that information to improve the experience.
