Who Can Apply for Health P.A.S.S.?

To be eligible for Health P.A.S.S., you must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident. While all eligible students are encouraged to apply, priority is given to applicants who:

Possess Strong Academic Requirements

  • A minimum 3.2 GPA (science and overall)
  • Completed the following coursework before attending Health P.A.S.S.:
    • 8 hours of biology
    • 8 hours of chemistry
    • 3 hours of English, speech or composition

Demonstrate One or More of the Following Areas:

  • Economically Disadvantaged: Your family’s income falls within federal low-income guidelines. To qualify, you’ll need to submit tax returns. Not sure if you qualify? Check the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services guidelines for reference.
  • Educationally Disadvantaged: Neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Committed to Serving Underserved Communities: You are passionate about improving health care access in rural or medically underserved areas and plan to serve in a community where health care professionals are needed most.

  • Supplemental Materials Due: February 15, 2025

Official Transcripts

Submit transcripts from all colleges or universities you’ve attended. Transcripts must be sent directly from your school to:

Parents Federal Tax Returns (If Applicable)

If you’re applying as economically disadvantaged, submit the most recent tax returns through your DMU admission account.

Letters of Recommendation (Two Required)

Ask for two letters from:

  • One science or mathematics professor
  • One professor from any course you’ve taken
  • Letters should be submitted through your DMU admission account.
