Dr. Heather Alaniz is a physical therapist in the Des Moines University Physical Therapy Clinic. She has extensive experience treating adults of all ages with diverse pelvic floor disorders, pre- and postpartum issues and orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical, spine and sacroiliac joint dysfunction, extremity disorders, temporomandibular joint disorder, headache pain, persistent pain, sports and work-related injuries and vestibular disorders. A board-certified orthopedic specialist, Dr. Alaniz has mentored other physical therapy clinicians, residents and students. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in psychology at Wartburg College and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Iowa. She completed an orthopedic physical therapy residency at Evidence in Motion in Chicago.
