No. ASK is not designed for securing rotations or for job placement; it is a tool for networking.

Post your available position on our Alumni Job Board to connect with more than 17,000 Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences alumni and students. Alumni Relations reviews submissions weekly and shares career-related and professional opportunities relevant to DMU’s degree programs. Posting a position is simple: copy and paste your job description and application instructions into the submission form.

Participating in ASK requires only your time. There are no fees or donations required to get involved. If you choose to host an ASK dinner, lunch or coffee meeting, you are responsible for any associated costs and may decide how many students, alumni or DMU employees to invite.

Travel expenses related to ASK participation are not reimbursable.

Your level of involvement is entirely up to you. ASK is a volunteer-based program, and you can choose how much time you would like to invest based on your interests, availability and goals.

Our students often use ASK as a research and networking resource, exploring alumni profiles and LinkedIn accounts to learn more about career paths, specialties and professional experiences. Even if a student doesn’t contact you directly, your participation helps expand their network and provides valuable insight as they explore academic and career opportunities.

Recent graduates play an important role in the ASK network. Whether you’re searching for a job, completing a residency or building your career, your experiences can provide valuable insight for current students. Because you’ve recently navigated many of the same academic and professional milestones, students often find your perspective especially relatable and helpful.
