Gary Stuck, D.O.’83, FAAFP, is chief medical officer for Advocate Aurora Health, the 10th largest nonprofit integrated health system in the U.S. With more than 8,100 physicians on staff and 27 hospitals, Advocate Aurora Health was formed when Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care merged in 2018. Stuck is also chief executive officer for Advocate Physician Partners and its clinically integrated network, which includes 5,000 physicians.  A family medicine physician for 32 years, he most recently served as president of Lawn Medical Center, a primary care physician group in Oak Lawn, IL. His career has strong connections to Advocate Health Care as a founding member of the Advocate Physician Partners Board of Directors, which he served as chair for 13 years. He also held the role of president for the Advocate Christ Medical Center physician-hospital organization for 22 years and was a member of its governing council for more than two decades. Additionally, he provided clinical insight as a member of the Advocate Health Care Board of Directors for six years. In 2014, Stuck was recognized by the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians as the Illinois Family Physician of the Year. A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, he completed his family medicine residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago.
