Your MSBS Admissions Process

Your future in biomedical sciences starts here.

We’re excited to help you begin. Follow these steps to get started on your application to the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program.

Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences participates in the web-based Post Baccalaureate Centralized Application Service. Direct applications to DMU are also accepted. We’ve made applying to the MSBS program simple and accessible by offering both options.

Step-by-Step Guide to DMU’s Admissions Process

    Application Timing

DMU uses rolling admissions. We recommend you apply and submit application materials early in the cycle.

    • The application to the MSBS program opens in early August.
    • For your best consideration, we recommend that you submit all materials by early July.
    • Applications are reviewed once they are complete and/or verified.

    Application Process

    1. Review the Requirements for Admission

Review the MSBS program’s admission requirements before proceeding.

    2. Submit Your Application to PostBacCAS or DMU

You may apply to the MSBS program through PostBacCAS* or directly to DMU.

*If applying through PostBacCAS, transcripts may take several weeks to process. We strongly recommend that you begin your application well in advance of the July deadline.

    3. Provide Additional Application Materials

In addition to the online application, you must submit the following application materials:

    Official Transcripts

Submit all official transcripts. Official transcripts should show all previous undergraduate and graduate work with grades and degrees. Transcripts must be from a regionally accredited college or regionally accredited university within the United States.

    Letters of Recommendation and References

Please provide a minimum of three letters of recommendation, including reference contact information. Evaluations may come from a professor, academic advisor, employer, supervisor or mentor.

    Official Test Scores (optional)

Send your official MCAT, GRE or DAT scores through your chosen application channel. If sending through PostBacCAS, DMU’s code is 4414. Submission of official test scores is optional.

    Résumé or CV (optional)

A résumé is optional, but highly recommended.

    Admissions Decisions

An interview is required for admission. Currently, interviews are offered virtually.
