“Having my own foot health issues with a congenital flexible flatfoot deformity, I found my way to the profession of podiatric medicine and surgery. I enjoy helping my patients learn about their foot condition and resolving their symptoms,” she says. “I certainly can empathize with many of their concerns. I like to take an individualized approach to each patient in developing a treatment plan and engaging the patient in their own plan of care to achieve their desired outcome.”

A fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, John is certified by the ABPM and by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery. She is a former DMU Alumni Board of Directors member and was named DMU’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Alumna of the Year in 2018.

John earned a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences at the College of Saint Benedict and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and Master of Health Care Administration from DMU. She completed a podiatric surgical residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines and a podiatric medicine internship and podiatric surgical residency at Yale/VA Connecticut Healthcare in New Haven.
