Mario La Giglia, D.O.’09

Mario La Giglia, D.O.’09, is now a staff surgeon with Blue Mountain Hospital in Blanding, UT, after 23 years in the National Guard and Army, 10 of those as an Army surgeon. On May 2 of this year, he retired from the Army and left his surgical unit, based out of Ft. Bragg, NC. The following day he was in Blanding, ready to join the BMH surgical staff. After graduating from DMU, he spent six years in residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX. He finished his residency in 2014 and was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, for the remainder of his time in the military. He and his wife of 21 years, Bridget Johnson, have three sons, Collin, 13, Rigley, 11 and Drake, 8.
