Robert J. Signore, D.O.’86

Robert J. Signore, D.O.’86, authored an article published in January 2017 in the Dermatology Online Journal titled “Prevention of poison ivy dermatitis with oral homeopathic Rhus toxicodendron.” According to the abstract, “acute allergic contact dermatitis to poison ivy is a common and miserable dermatosis which affects millions of Americans each year,” but preventative measures often fail. Signore describes two open studies and anecdotal experience with using over-the-counter homeopathic poison ivy (HPI) products taken by mouth, which show effectiveness, and calls for randomized clinical trials to further evaluate HPI’s safety and efficacy. Signore’s dermatology office has been providing clinical dermatological care to patients in the Tinley Park, IL, and surrounding southwest Chicago suburban area for more than 20 years. He is board-certified in dermatology by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology.
