Lucas Hammell, D.O.’06

Lucas Hammell, D.O.’06, joined the Gundersen Spring Grove Clinic in family medicine in Spring Grove, MN, where he sees patients for a full range of services, including annual checkups, osteopathic manual medicine treatment, pediatric visits, immunizations, concussion care, treatment for illness and injury and mental health care. Hammer was an Air Force flight surgeon for 12 years, serving as the primary care doctor for flight crews, flying in more than 30 combat missions and preparing wounded troops for evacuation from Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan to Germany. He started at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI, in family medicine four years ago. Most recently, he helped establish a new family medicine residency clinic, mentoring new family medicine doctors. He and his wife, Heather, have two sons, Myles and Liam.
