Leonard Mermel, D.O.’84, ScM, AM (Hon.), FSHEA, FIDSA, FACP, on June 2, 2016, was officially congratulated by the Rhode Island Senate on his 60th birthday and thanked for his dedication and service to the state’s citizens. He is professor of medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University; medical director of the department of epidemiology and infection control, Rhode Island Hospital; and adjunct clinical professor at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy.
