Get Involved and Lead

As a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies student at Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences, you’ll have many opportunities to get involved beyond the classroom, including:

  • Our Physician Assistant Club is a student-led organization that promotes academic achievement, clinical excellence and professional identity. It keeps you connected to medical advancements and encourages community engagement and service.
  • The Pi Alpha Honor Society is a national organization that recognizes PA students and graduates for outstanding academic achievement, leadership, research and service. It promotes high standards of character and conduct.
  • Physician assistant students are part of the DMU Student Government Association, which brings together representatives from every degree program to shape student life and advocate for meaningful change.
  • Align your career goals with a number of student clubs like Neurology Club, Geriatrics Club, Pediatrics Club, Homeless Community Outreach and more, many of which host specialized guest speakers and provide networking opportunities with students from other health professions.
