Delaney named Iowa Campus Compact Faculty Fellow

Delaney-Laura-54746-240x300Laura Delaney, M.P.A.S., PA-C, assistant professor in the Physician Assistant program, was selected as one of four faculty members from across the state to serve as Iowa Campus Compact 2015-2016 Engaged Scholar Faculty Fellows.

Faculty Fellows are from Iowa Campus Compact member institutions and receive a stipend to support their work. Delaney is researching the impact of past global health medical service experiences on Des Moines University alumni. This year’s other fellows are:

  • Andrea Bixler, associate professor of biology, Clarke University
  • Emily Bowman, assistant professor of sociology, Coe College
  • Jill Smith, lecturer in management and organizations, Tippie College of Business, University of Iowa

Des Moines University joined Iowa Campus Compact as a member institution in 2014. Campus Compact advances the public purposes of colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and to educate students for civic and social responsibility. Faculty Fellows will join in a learning community to improve their engaged scholarship knowledge and skills and will create a new or improved course or scholarship project. The goal of the program is to encourage more Iowa faculty to turn their work into scholarship that benefits their discipline and the field of community engagement.
