Set, spike, scored $$$ for kids

Two DMU student clubs (The American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine and Student National Podiatric Medical Association) recently hosted a volleyball tournament to raise money for Camp Hertko Hollow, a summer camp for children with diabetes.

The tourney raised nearly $500. Eleven teams played, composed of students, staff & faculty from DMU as well as the Des Moines Volleyball Club and other people from around Des Moines. Team “Hit-faced” took first place in the tournament double eliminating the undefeated team from Drake in four games during the final two matches.

The tournament is one part of a greater goal by Student National Podiatric Association at Des Moines University to raise $2,000 for Camp Hertko Hollow before the 2009 camp season. You can make a donation if interested.

Great job raising money so far!!
