(Des Moines, IA) – Adults 50 and older are invited to Des Moines University’s Senior Health Fair for free health screenings on November 1, from 8 a.m. to noon.
In the Student Education Center, 3300 Grand Avenue, seniors can get free blood glucose, blood pressure and bone density screenings. Students and physicians will be doing a demonstration of osteopathic manipulative medicine and will offer manipulative treatments. Podiatric medical students will be screening for foot or ankle problems. Free medication reviews will be done for seniors who bring a list of their medications, both prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
Des Moines University (DMU) offers this fair annually. It is organized by students in the Geriatrics Club. The event is also supported by AARP. DART is also a supporting partner and will offer free rides on November 1 to riders 65 and older who show a DART reduced fare ID or a photo ID with birth date. Visit ridedart.com for more info.
