Our Mission

The mission of Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences is to improve lives in our global community by educating diverse groups of highly competent and compassionate health professionals. The universityโ€™s Body Donation Program directly supports this critical mission by enabling future health care professionals to gain in-depth knowledge about human anatomy and learn and practice techniques that improve and save lives.

Equally important, the program inspires students to develop compassion, respect and gratitude toward those who have made the ultimate gift of donating their bodies. These selfless individuals play a vital role in preparing future health care providers and scientists to serve patients, develop health solutions and change our world for the better for years to come.
