DMU Clinic – Foot and Ankle Expands Hours, Adds Services at RecPlex 

Patients who need medical care for foot and ankle conditions and injuries now have greater access to Des Moines University’s podiatric physicians: Early-morning appointments are available on select days at the DMU Clinic – Foot and Ankle, 3200 Grand Ave., Des Moines.  

In addition, DMU’s lower-limb experts will see patients with sports- and activity-related injuries on Tuesday and Friday mornings at the MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex, 6500 Grand Ave., West Des Moines. 

“Maintaining one’s ability to move and participate in physical activity plays a huge role in our quality of life. Our outstanding podiatric physicians are committed to helping patients achieve this goal by providing foot and ankle services that enhance their health, well-being and functionality,” says Philip Blumberg, M.H.A., executive director of the DMU Clinic.  

Patients are encouraged to call DMU Clinic – Foot and Ankle at 515-271-1731 to make appointments at either location.  

DMU’s podiatric physicians treat a variety of common foot and ankle conditions, including bunions, heel pain and nail and skin disorders, for patients of all ages. They offer surgical services for deformities of the foot, ankle injury or trauma, infection or disease. Other conditions they treat include diabetic-related issues, nerve pain in the lower extremities, and management of fractures, ulcers and wounds related to edema and poor circulation. 

DMU podiatric physicians Sean Grambart, D.P.M., FACFAS, and Ashley Dikis, D.P.M., FACFAS, focus services at the MidAmerican RecPlex on sports and activity-related injuries and conditions. Both are graduates of the university’s College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, diplomates of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and fellows of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Grambart is a past ACFAS president, and Dikis is a diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. 

DMU has been the exclusive physical therapy and athletic training services provider at the RecPlex since 2021.
