Steve Herwig, D.O.’76, M.B.A., R.Ph., in October 2021 was awarded the Weaver Medal of Honor by the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Drake University. He graduated from the college in 1971. The Weaver Medal is the highest honor given by Drake’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for “advancing the education, research or outreach mission of the college for the benefit of human health.”
Prior to his retirement in May 2015, after 34 years of clinical practice, Dr. Herwig was a clinical assistant professor in the department of otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at the University of Iowa College of Medicine and an adjunct associate professor of otolaryngology at Des Moines University.
