Paul Berger III, D.O.’08, FCCP, is division chief of pulmonary and critical care for the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine and lead investigator at Sanford Health for “I-SPY COVID-19,” a national trial to reduce mortality and ventilator requirements for critically ill patients. He also is the first Sanford Health physician to offer the Monarch Platform, a minimally invasive, endoscopic device that uses the latest in robotic technology to give physicians a real-time, three-dimensional view of the lungs to make diagnoses.
