Pamela Harvey Miller, D.O.’99, M.H.A.’99, director of emergency medicine for Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL, this fall was promoted to rear admiral in the Navy Reserves. She is just the second rear admiral currently serving in Navy medicine. She was among 10 Navy reserve captains to come under consideration for promotion in March. Miller has been in the Navy for 30 years, enlisting in 1989 as an ensign in the nurse corps. In her new rank, she will be involved in determining the future configuration of Navy reserve medicine.
