Scott Nelson, D.P.M.’00, FACFAS, on Feb. 15 took office as president-elect of the 7,600-member American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) during the college’s 77th annual scientific conference in New Orleans. He is a foot and ankle surgeon with Catholic Health Initiative Orthopedics Foot and Ankle in the greater Omaha, NE, area. He is board-certified in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Nelson completed his residency at both the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh and the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Mary’s, OH. He frequently lectures on foot and ankle surgery, and his research has been published in numerous journals and textbooks.
