Mario La Giglia, D.O.’09

Mario La Giglia, D.O.’09, became a surgeon at San Juan Hospital in Monticello, UT, and Blue Mountain Hospital in Blanding, UT. He grew up in San Juan County and served in the U.S. Army for 23 years, beginning at age 17. He completed Airborne School, Ranger School and Special Forces qualification and was deployed to Baghdad in 2003 with the Utah National Guard. He did a general surgery residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX, and served for four years on an elite special operations surgical team that provided care to injured soldiers on the battlefield. He and his wife, Bridget, have three sons.
