Jeff Hoffmann, D.O.’84

Jeff Hoffmann, D.O.’84, was featured in the Guttenberg Press on Nov. 2 for his 25 years of serving as a sidelines physician at football games in Guttenberg, IA. A physical therapist before earning his D.O. degree, he helped start the first local wrestling program for students and continues to educate student wrestlers on nutrition, health and body fat count. He also has served as a school board member and talks to students annually about the harmful effects of tobacco use. Hoffmann and his wife, Carolyn, were key contributors in establishing the Clayton Ridge Community School District’s Stephen D. Shannon Athletic Complex, which opened in 2009. He received the Iowa High School Athletic Association Sports Medicine Award in 2013.
