Eric Steen, D.P.M.’03, FACFAS, and his wife, Kay Vaikayee, D.P.M., FACFAS, opened a new office in Englewood, CO, called Pro Active Podiatry. Both have extensive military service; Steen served in the U.S. Army before enrolling at DMU and returned to active duty after graduating, completing his residency at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, NC. He then served at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, before retiring from the Army in 2013. He then pursued additional postgraduate fellowship training in Greenville, TX. Steen is board-certified in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery and foot surgery. He and Vaikayee are fellows of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has special interests in lower extremity biomechanics, surgical and medical treatment of pediatric and adult ankle and foot disorders, ankle arthroscopy, sports injuries, diabetic foot conditions, flat foot reconstruction and fractures.
