Noah Oliver, a third-year resident at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA, was among the authors of research published online last June in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, titled “Mechanical Comparison of Cortical Screw Fixation versus Locking Plate Fixation in First Metatarsal Base Osteotomy.” Lead authors were Kevin Smith, D.P.M.’95, Ph.D., FACFAS, associate dean for clinical affairs in the DMU College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, and Roy Lidtke, D.P.M.’91, assistant professor in the internal medicine department’s rheumatology section at Rush University Medical Center.
