Investing in community and diversity

Bankers-TrustBankers Trust has been in the financial business since 1917, but its actions and impact go far beyond for-profit endeavors. Central Iowaโ€™s leading independently owned bank now with offices in six states, the company has invested in its communities as long as itโ€™s served customers. That includes support of DMU.

Bankers Trust has been especially generous in its support of the Glanton Minority Scholarship Fund, which benefits minority students in all programs of the University. Bankers Trust has given to the fund since its inception in 2004, and itโ€™s been a platinum-level sponsor of the annual Glanton Scholarship Dinner since 2011.

In addition to empowering outstanding students underserved in health care, the companyโ€™s contributions reflect its deep commitment to diversity: Bankers Trust is a three-time recipient of the Greater Des Moines Partnershipโ€™s Diversity Award and a four-time recipient of the NAACPโ€™s Merit Employer of the Year honor.

โ€œAt Bankers Trust, we welcome and actively pursue diversity, and our commitment to community informs every aspect of our corporate life,โ€ says Suku Radia, Bankers Trust chief executive officer and president and a past Glanton Scholarship Dinner honoree. โ€œExperience has shown the more we give, the more we gain.โ€
