A decade of making a powerful difference, and still going strong: the Glanton Minority Scholarship Fund.

Des Moines University is preparing tomorrow’s health care professionals and leaders with its outstanding graduate programs in health care. For the past 11 years, the University’s Glanton Minority Scholarship Fund with the generous support of our donors has helped make these programs accessible to minority students, critically needed to meet our nation’s health care challenges.

Many Glanton Scholarship donors make their gifts as sponsors of the Glanton Scholarship Dinner. This premier event, which will mark its 11th year in 2014, brings together hundreds of civic and corporate leaders in central Iowa and beyond who support diversity in health care by opening doors for minority students at DMU.

Glanton Dinner attendees also celebrate diversity by honoring a select individual who has been a leader in creating opportunities for minorities. The 2014 honoree  is William “Bill” Knapp, an entrepreneur who founded and built Iowa Realty into the state’s largest real estate company. He also has helped transform central Iowa with visionary projects ranging from the Des Moines skywalk system to the rejuvenated Drake neighborhood. A generous philanthropist, he’s benefited numerous organizations including Drake University, homeless shelters and the Iowa Sate Fair.

Join us in supporting a diverse health care workforce of DMU graduates!
