Paul G. Martin, D.O.’75

The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) Society of Alumni and Friends presented Martin with its Honorary Alumnus Award. The award is given to non-alumni who have brought honor, exemplary service and support to OU-HCOM and its community of alumni, students, faculty and staff through significant and selfless contributions to local, regional or national communities, and who have made a positive impact on Ohio University and the college while also inspiring the university community.

Martin was recognized for his nearly 40 years of service in mentoring hundreds of OU-HCOM students, Centers for Osteopathic Research and Education residents and EMS providers.

A pioneer in osteopathic emergency medicine, Martin committed himself early in his career to broad-reaching education, directing the emergency medicine clerkship for students and the osteopathic emergency medicine residency program at Richmond Heights Hospital and supervising the training of countless emergency medical technicians and paramedics. The emergency medicine service providers trained by Martin are practicing in nearly every community served by the 911 systems in Lake, Geauga and Cuyahoga counties.

Martin is an emergency medicine physician with Richmond Heights General Hospital in Richmond Heights, OH.
