La Clinica open house

La-Clinica-Open-House

La Clinica de la Esperanza is excited to announce that they have expanded to meet the needs of their growing community and would like to invite everyone to view their new location on the Des Moines University Campus!

La Clinica opened in 1995 to reduce disparities in access to primary care services for Latino immigrants in Polk County. Language, lack of insurance and immigration status were and continue to be frequent barriers to accessing health care for the Latino population. The clinic provides more than 2,000 patients with continuous, comprehensive care in the areas of adult, pediatric and women’s health. Providers offer acute and preventive care for common health issues and chronic diseases on a sliding fee scale.

The completely renovated clinic offers a better medical environment for patients, expanded health services and will also provide training opportunities for DMU students. DMU is pleased to welcome the clinic and dedicated to improving lives in the global community.

The community open house will be held on Wednesday, September 12 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Along with tours of the new location on the 6th floor of the Des Moines University Clinic, a brief presentation will be held at 6 p.m.

We hope you can join us in welcoming La Clinica to the DMU campus!
