How long will it take to earn the master of science in biomedical sciences degree?

The master of science in biomedical sciences degree program consists of 40 semester hours (25 hours in the classroom and 15 hours of bench research). The program can be completed in two years on a full-time basis. Part-time students can take up to five years to complete their degree.

Are classes available online?

Not at this time. Courses emphasize faculty-student interaction, hands-on learning and research and sharing information in presentations and informally.

Can I transfer credits from another program or institution to count toward my master of science in biomedical sciences degree?

A maximum of 10 semester hours may be transferred from another accredited (or equivalent) institution, pending the review and approval of the College of Osteopathic Medicine graduate faculty. Grades earned on transferred courses must be equivalent to B or better. The request to transfer credit must be submitted in writing to the director of the biomedical sciences program.

I’m interested in pursuing a master of science in biomedical sciences degree along with another program at Des Moines University. Is that an option?
