A team of first-and second-year DMU osteopathic medical students almost conquered the courts at the 31st annual Rotator Cuff Tournament at A.T. Still University (ATSU) March 30-31. After defeating two teams from ATSUโs Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and another from the ATSU Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, DMU fell to tournament champion Logan College of Chiropractic.
โAll the guys had a blast,โ says team organizer Mark Turpin, D.O.โ14. โI hadnโt played that much back-to-back basketball since junior high.โ
DMUโs Sports Medicine Club and Student Government Association provided the numbered jerseys required for the basketball tournament; the University will retain them for future Rotator Cuff Tournament teams, possibly including students from other DMU programs.
โAll of us on the team will be here next year, and we want to get some publicity to involve more students and make it an annual tradition,โ Turpin says.
