DMU Marketing Project Earns Recognition From National 2026 UCDA Design Awards

Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences has earned an honorable mention in the 2026 University & College Designers Association Design Awards

The award-winning entry — a set of trivia cards created for DMU’s Office of Admissions — included 80 cards featuring facts about DMU. College and high school admissions counselors use the cards as an interactive tool with prospective students, helping them learn about the university and the health professions represented by DMU’s programs.

The UCDA Design Awards recognize exceptional design and creative work in higher education as part of the organization’s mission to promote design excellence, support educational institutions and advance the exchange of ideas among creative professionals in education.

Entries were judged by a panel of designers, design educators, photographers and videographers working in educational institutions. This year, judges reviewed 776 entries across 97 categories. Of those, 184 received Gold, Silver or Awards of Excellence recognition, and 40 received Honorable Mention distinctions. Winners were selected based on overall quality, innovation, effective use of resources and impact on their institutions or communities.

“This project is a great example of our team’s ability to take information and transform it into something approachable and fun,” says Stephanie Greiner, MS, vice president for university advancement. “We’re proud to be recognized by UCDA for work that helps prospective students explore health professions and discover what makes DMU unique.”

Winning entries will be featured in the UCDA Design Awards Show during the 56th annual UCDA Design Conference in Kansas City this November and online.
