Des Moines University Hosts Annual Pre-Health Summit for High School Students

Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences invites high school students to a free Pre-Health Summit from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. The interactive virtual event is designed for students who are interested in exploring what it means to be a health sciences professional.

The annual event, led by DMU’s admissions team and current students, gives high schoolers a preview of their future by providing insights into medicine and health sciences. Attendees will enjoy discussions and interactive sessions with DMU student mentors who want to inspire the next generation of health professionals and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.

The summit will help participants gain insight on the opportunities and pathways available through DMU.

“The Pre-Health Summit gives students a unique opportunity to explore careers in health care through meaningful interactions with DMU students and faculty,” says Molly Moeller, MBA, senior director of admissions and recruitment at DMU. “We hope participants leave feeling inspired, informed and more confident about the possibilities ahead as they consider their future educational and career paths.”

Space in the 2026 Pre-Health Summit is still available, and interested students can register online.
