DMU employees are Purple & Proud during annual campaign

Des Moines University faculty and staff are passionate about and committed to our students, the University, our patients, the community and health care. Every year, employees show their pride in DMU by financially giving back to various areas to support the three priorities of Purple & Proud: the  Campaign for Des Moines University:

  • Support our students and ensuring the high quality of their education
  • Invest in faculty committed to both student success and research
  • Enhance our facilities to meet urgent health care needs

DMU employees continue to exceed the national average for employee participation. In a recent study conducted by the Annual Giving Network this past January, educational institutions and universities reported a decline in their annual support. Some organizations are reporting less than 10 percent for employee participation.

The annual two-week Employee Campaign kicked off with DMU’s first-ever Day of Giving called One Day for DMU and the momentum continued throughout the two-weeks. This year our total Employee Campaign participation hit 73%, and we were able to raise $165,114, a 26% increase in dollars from last year! This is the most amount of money raised through the Employee Campaign since it was launch 20 years ago!
