Another successful year for CME

2016 was an exciting year for Des Moines University (DMU) Continuing Medical Education (CME). The below graphic summarizes our 2016 annual report.

DMU provided 387 educational opportunities throughout the entire United States and Worldwide in more than 25 countries. The portfolio of activities include live, live-online, enduring materials, osteopathic medical teaching, clinical teaching, and more.

Accomplishments include receiving five year continued CME accreditation through the Council on Podiatric Medical Education. The department also received almost $27,000 in non-commercial support grant money through The France Foundation, Med Learning Group, After Cancer: Solutions for Sexual Health, Iowa Cancer Consortium, and the Iowa Department of Public Health.

Partnerships with other educational institutions or healthcare entities include (to name a few) Wesley Life Acres, Des Moines Public Library, Susan G. Komen Iowa,  Group for Research in Pathology Education, International Spine and Pain Institute, American Physical Therapy Association, Iowa Podiatric Medical Association, Hanover Research, The National Center for Biotechnology Information, and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
