Robert “Bob” Kreamer, D.O. ’56, FACOI, ended his long battle with cancer on Sept. 24. The Des Moines resident was 80.

A cardiologist who practiced at the Iowa Heart Center, Mercy Hospital, Hamilton County Hospital and Des Moines General Hospital, Dr. Kreamer credited his professors at Still Osteopathic College – now DMU – for inspiring him to pursue the highest levels of intellectual attainment and professional integrity. After graduating, he completed a residency in internal medicine at Des Moines General Hospital and then became the first osteopathic physician accepted as a fellow by the University of Iowa cardiology program.

Dr. Kreamer had served on the DMU Board of Trustees since 1993. His family requested that memorial donations be made to the University.
