OMM Treatments and Giveaways at DMU Day at the Fair

Health takes a backseat for most attendees of the Iowa State Fair. With all the delicious treats and over 50 foods on a stick, it is easy to overindulge. Des Moines University (DMU) is reminding fairgoers about their health on Sunday, Aug. 14, with a tent on the Grand Concourse.

“We are proud to sponsor Des Moines University day at the fair,” said Kendall Dillon, director of marketing at DMU. “As a medical school, we are very concerned with the health of Iowans. What better way to connect with Iowans than at our great state fair?”

This year, the DMU tent is offering visitors osteopathic manual medicine (OMM) treatments, a hands-on therapy that only osteopathic physicians are trained to provide. There will also be plenty of giveaways, including first aid kits and hand sanitizer.

In addition to Sunday’s tent on the concourse, DMU physicians and students will be providing blood pressure and body fat screenings in Farm Bureau Park on Saturday and Sunday.
