Time to put your soles to good use!

‘Tis the season to walk, race or run for good causes. Here’s a few coming up…

On April 10 you can walk or run to raise money for and awareness about AIDS with The Project’s annual run at DMU. Kickoff is at 10.

On April 10, beginning at 8 a.m. you can walk the skywalks for juvenile diabetes.

April 16 DMU is host to one of the rare evening awareness events. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for Take Back The Night – a program to fight sexual violence.

Or between April 16 & 18 you can run a leg of the relay to share the message of organ and tissue donation.

May 1 there’s a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in the Village of Ponderosa and a 5K or 10K for organ, eye & tissue donation.

The walk to fight multiple sclerosis is May 8 in Des Moines. Also on May 8 you could walk to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.

On May 15 you can walk with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at Raccoon River Park!

May 22 you can help combat arthritis with a walk at Blank Park Zoo.
