CPMS Wins Awards at National APMA Meeting

At the 2008 National APMA Annual Scientific Meeting held July 24-27 in Honolulu, Hawaii, CPMS presented seven scientific poster abstracts and one oral abstract.

Rachel Jung (DPM โ€™09) received the first place award and a $1,000 honorarium in the Resident/Student Category for her research project entitled, โ€œA comparison of bone quality in diabetic versus non-diabetic patient populations: surgical implications.โ€ Co-authors include Drs. Robert Yoho, Vassilios Vardaxis and Jill Frerichs.

Josh Moore (DPM โ€™09) received the second place award and a $500 honorarium in the Resident/Student Category for his research project titled, โ€œA randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study to determine the effects of topical Ketamine on lower extremity painful diabetic neuropathy.โ€ Co-authors include Dr. James Mahoney and students Kyle Haffner (DPM โ€˜09) and Matthew Peterson (DPMโ€™09).

Dr. Roy Lidtke received the second place award in the Oral Abstract Category for his project titled, โ€œAnatomic relationship of heel spur to surrounding soft tissue: greater variability than previously reported.โ€
