DMU student on NBC’s reality show “The Biggest Loser”

(Des Moines, IA) – Des Moines University medical student, Jen Kersey, spent a few months earlier this year with 13 other contestants on NBC’s hit reality show, “The Biggest Loser,” which premiers on September 13.

 

The Crandall, Texas, native took time off from medical school to appear on the show. The show was taped in Spring 2005 at the Beverly Hills Equestrian Ranch in Simi Valley, California. Contestants stayed in a secluded $74 million mansion. They exercised at a nearby facility that included weight machines, an endless swimming pool, cardio equipment and the stage for their weigh-ins.

 

Kersey is back at Des Moines University studying osteopathic medicine. “The Biggest Loser has provided me with the information, inspiration and confidence I needed to change my life for good,” states Kersey, “The Biggest Loser is not just another reality TV show.  It is a documentary of 14 lives being changed both physically and emotionally.  It is proof that everyday average people can change their lifestyle in order to live longer and healthier.”
