Job description

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX, is a 495-bed Level II Trauma hospital that services the Texas Panhandle, Oklahoma Panhandle, parts of Kansas, and New Mexico. Our Physical Medicine Department spans many areas within the hospital including acute care, our 24-bed inpatient rehab unit, and 4 outpatient facilities. We have 3 open positions in our department that I would like to share information about.

We currently have 2 full-time Occupational Therapist positions available in the acute care setting at our hospital. Our acute care team sees patients on our Med-Surg, Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, and Cardiology floors. We see a wide range of patients, ranging from high acuity, strokes, generalized weakness, post-operative patients, etc. Our acute OTs do mostly evaluations with some treatments and re-evaluations as needed. These positions are Monday โ€“ Friday, 8am โ€“ 5pm.

We also have an opening for a full-time Occupational Therapist in our Stroke Certified Inpatient Rehab Unit. Our OT team collaborates extensively with other therapy disciplines, our rehab nursing team, and our Medical Director to provide the highest quality of care possible. The schedule for this position is four 10-hour shifts weekly.

Right now, we are offering a $15K sign-on bonus for new graduates and a $20K sign-on bonus for OTs with at least 1 year of experience. Both bonuses require a 2-year commitment. All three of the OT positions are have a weekend rotation that requires 1 weekend to be worked about every 3 months and 1 major holiday every 2-3 years.
