Growing Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic Looking for Physician Assistants

Walnut Creek Psychiatry is a growing psychiatric outpatient clinic committed to providing exceptional mental health care to individuals across Iowa. Our business was built on three foundational values:

We are looking for a full-time physician assistant to join our team in Johnston, Iowa.

Job Responsibilities:
-Treating individuals across the lifespan.
-Helps patients by evaluating medical conditions and biopsychosocial needs.
-Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescription of psychotropic medications.
-Evaluate and assess using motivational interviewing of patient, family, and other persons; conducting physical examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
-Develop treatment plans by determining nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders and establishing treatment goals and methodologies.
-Utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discussing progress toward goals with patients; providing instructions; monitoring effect of medications; and supervising staff provision of services.
-Maintains interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress, and consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.
-Assures quality and safe service for patients.
-Participates in learning opportunities.

Salary range
$110,00 for new graduates with robust training/mentorship

$120,000 - $140,000 per year based on experience
