Founded in 1898, Des Moines University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine is the second-oldest osteopathic medical school in the United States. Students in DMU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine seek to do a world of good in their professions, for patients and in society. You can support this top-quality institution as a member of the COM Leadership Society. When you join, you will directly benefit students, patients and the osteopathic profession they’ll go on to serve. The COM Leadership Society honors individuals and organizations that contribute $1,000 or more annually to COM Scholarships, the Global Health Fund or the COM Annual Fund. The University also recognizes these donors as members of the President’s Society, which identifies DMU’s most ardent supporters.

COM Annual Fund
The College of Osteopathic Medicine Annual Fund provides critical support for Des Moines University’s daily operations. It provides critically needed scholarships, bring distinguished experts to campus, support provocative conferences and more per discretion of the dean. Approximately 60 percent of DMU faculty and staff contribute to the COM Annual Fund. 100 percent of DMU Board of Trustees members participate.

Through the generosity of alumni and friends, the University has established a variety of funds to improve the education of our COM students. Scholarships enable deserving high-quality students to achieve their goals, reduce their debt and demonstrate the commitment of donors who believe in their potential. Every donation is crucial, regardless of its size, and goes directly towards helping our students. Donations are not diminished by administrative costs and are fully tax-deductible.
