Sasha Khosravi, D.O.’01

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center and Universal Health Services announced that Sasha Khosravi, D.O.’01, has been named chief medical officer (CMO) of the new Clive, IA, Behavioral Health facility. He will assume the role on a full-time basis beginning in summer 2020.

Clive Behavioral Health is a 100-bed facility currently under construction and a partnership of MercyOne and UHS to address the growing, unmet need for accessible, high-quality behavioral health services. As CMO of Clive Behavioral Health, Dr. Khosravi will oversee clinical operations of the medical staff, implementing safety and quality improvement efforts and evaluating overall quality of services.

Dr. Khosravi joined MercyOne in 2006 and has been instrumental in multiple initiatives to broaden services and expand the role of MercyOne in treating this most underserved population. He helped develop the MercyOne Pediatric Neurology and Psychiatry Center and was integral to the creation of the MercyOne Psychiatric Residency program. He currently serves as department chair for MercyOne Behavioral Health and medical director of the pediatric division. Active in the Iowa Psychiatry Society, he also consults with multiple school districts and was recently awarded a Distinguished Service Award at the 2019 Midwest Regional School Conference.

Dr. Khosravi completed a psychiatry residency at Washington University in St. Louis. He was chief fellow at St. Louis Children’s Hospital during his child and adolescent fellowship.
