Our booth along the Grand Concourse will feature free health screenings and excellent DMU-branded freebies that promote a healthy summer, including jump ropes, heart-shaped chill packs, lunch bags, thermometers and more.
Screenings are popular, and offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Osteopathic manual medicine, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
OMM involves using the hands to diagnose, treat and prevent illness or injury. Under the supervision of licensed clinicians, DMU students evaluate attendees and provide hands-on, non-invasive treatment. Using OMM, a Des Moines University Clinic physician will move your muscles and joints using techniques including stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. OMM is used to ease pain, promote healing and increase mobility.
Blood Pressure & BMI, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
DMU students will also perform blood pressure checks, BMI assessments at the Farm Bureau tent, adjacent to the DMU location on the Grand Concourse.
Physical Therapy, 3-6 p.m.
DMU students will offer blood pressure checks and assessments of balance and flexibility.
