Now that the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) has reduced denials based on not qualifying for protection, more cases are focusing on the “reasonableness” of the accommodation. Fundamental alteration is the most important aspect of “reasonable” in an academic context. Can DMU define fundamental alteration and do we have a process to document it?
