October 31, 2013Karin Nowicki named finalist for Women of Innovation award Karin Nowicki, surgical education coordinator, was named a finalist by the Technology Association of Iowa for its Women of Innovation awards. The awards celebrate women who are leaders in science, technology, education and math. A five-person panel selected 81 finalists in 11 categories. Nowicki is a finalist in the Rising Star category, which recognizes women early in their careers who exhibit great potential.This is the sixth year of the Women of Innovation awards. Nominees span across a wide range of categories, including entrepreneurship, innovation, student work and champions of work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
