The Journal of Cerebrovascular Disease and Stroke is set to publish a paper by Ruan Neurology Clinic and Clinical Research Center physician, Michael R. K. Jacoby, MD and DMU professor Pat Finnerty, PhD who were joined by five DMU students (now residents from the East and West coast). This study investigated the availability of diagnostic and therapeutic modalities available for acute stroke care among 118 hospitals across the state with emergency departments, evaluating the availability of specific staff, services and transport to accomplish timely transfer of patients to higher levels of care. The study will comment on the degree to which the system for stroke care in Iowa is developed. This research could profoundly impact planning for the future of delivery of neurology services in the state.Download PDF Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
